Who Are We?

“ShikshaDaan provides scholarships to students from underprivileged sections of society for their graduation or vocational programs. The aim is to fund students closer to employment opportunities, which can help BPL and poor families improve their economic status. Research indicates that the largest dropout rate occurs after the 12th standard.

ShikshaDaan offers scholarships for students to pursue degree programs or join ITIs for vocational programs leading to jobs or self-employment opportunities, focusing on funding education that leads to employment.

To find deserving candidates for scholarships and trustworthy partners who can source these candidates, the Co-Founders have initiated a “ShikshaDaan Yatra”. This drive spans across every district in India (676 in total) and began on April 10, 2015, from Himachal Pradesh. Regular updates are available through “Yatra Statistics”. This Yatra has enabled ShikshaDaan to establish an extensive network of validated on-ground partners who assist in sourcing verified beneficiaries.”

About Krishnan And Bindu

  • Professionals with 60+ years of combined experience.
  • Krishnan is an alumnus of IIM Ahmedabad and Bindu is an alum of ISB Hyderabad.
  • Krishnan has worked in the Healthcare, FMCG, Social Development, Real Estate and Technology sectors for over 30 years. Cipla, Unilever, L’Oreal, USAID projects, CPG consultants are some of the organizations Krishnan has worked with.
  • Bindu has worked in the Computer training, Retail, Hospitality and BPO sectors for over 22 years. NIIT, First Computers, Pizza Corner, Wipro Spectramind and Aon Hewitt are some of the organizations Bindu has worked with.
  • Both have been entrepreneurs as well.

ShikshaDaan And The Yatra

  • Target Segment – Undergraduate, professional and vocational scholars.

  • Program Management Charges – 5% only.
  • ShikshaDaan currently works in Delhi NCR, Rajasthan, HP, UP, MP, Tamil Nadu, Haryana, Assam, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Bihar, AP and Telangana.
  • Co-founders on a unique multi year ShikshaDaan Yatra, a road trip across India covering 676 districts that began on March 1, 2015 – covered 178 districts so far. The Yatra has resumed in Nov 2022 after a break of 2.5 years due to the pandemic.
