We visited the Study Hall college (part of SHEF, Study Hall Educational Foundation) at Piparsand, Kanpur Road, Lucknow on Nov 7, 2025. It was a long overdue visit as we have been supporting many girl students here, all thanks to Milliman India, our first corporate sponsor.

While we visited the Prerna School in Lucknow several times, we somehow missed visiting the college.

The Prerna school lives up to its name “inspiration”. It has inspired so many young girls/women to get educated and fly high. The Study Hall college is an extension of the school where students from the Prerna School can continue their degree program besides other young men and women from the adjoining areas.

Do visit their website – Study Hall College to know more about the degree courses on offer. The alumni stories will inspire you. As of 2024, 318 students have graduated from the college and 52% of them are employed with good organisations. We certainly were inspired.

After a meeting with the office bearers Krishnan and I interacted with the current students that we support and some of the alums. What an amazing bunch of young women they are !! There were lots of questions, especially when I shared about our life story and the struggles we went through. My mother had also travelled with us and all the young girls wanted to meet her.

A small personal note – if you visit the college and are offered lunch, please don’t refuse !! The food is wholesome, prepared fresh and so tasty. We truly enjoyed our lunch.
