ShikshaDaan had launched 20 scholarships through Buddy4Study.com in August 2016. We got well over 2000 applications and through a stringent process we shortlisted 20 deserving scholars. Then the Buddy4Study team swung into action to collect the supporting documents, bank account details etc. The shortlisted candidates were contacted and informed that they have got the ShikshaDaan meritorious scholarship and the documents that they had to submit.

Towards the completion of the process, Buddy4Study got this email from Samia, saying that she had received another scholarship and wanted the amount to be used for another deserving candidate. In a country where the rich try and get income certificates that declare them to be underprivileged, here is a genuine hero who is definitely not from a privileged background and still is so giving. She could have taken both the scholarships and used the money to help her family but that streak of honesty and genuine concern for another needy individual made her give away her scholarship.

India is safe in the hands of young girls like Samia Abdul Moiz and ShikshaDaan salutes her selfless spirit.
